Here’s the rundown on what was covered and a few key tips to help grow your business:
First up, our Creative Developer & Stylist, Therese Moussa, dove into the world of styling your POS. She first noted that your guest’s experience in your space is going to be shaped mostly by their emotional response (80%) and least likely from a logical place (20%), and went on to talk through how you can enhance your POS to appeal to your guest’s five senses, and some neat little tricks to help up-sell your product.
Following his presentation at our first masterclass, The Grounds Director, Ramzey Choker, took to the floor again, this time accompanied by our Business Development Manager, Kevin Upton. They talked through how we capture data (sharing some tools you can implement in your venues to do just the same) and most importantly, the three key ways we use it to:
- measure daily sales and year on year comparisons
- measure weekly profit & losses
- track customer complaints
If you’re looking for a place to start, Ramzey recommended a business management book from author Jim Collins, Good To Great – Why Some Companies Make the Leap and Others Don’t.
Lastly, Wholesale Training Manager and Licensed Q Grader, Andrew, built on his lessons from the last session on how to innovate your beverage offering. Sharing tips for switching up your menu, showcasing a point of difference from your competitors and adding value to your guests, he then created and shared two recipes – a refreshing Espresso Tonic & his delicious Raspberry Cascara Latte (but we’ve saved those exclusively for our wholesale family).
