Coming in hot to Espresso next week is the Kilimbi Rwandan Natural. With flavours of juicy red berries, orange and white peach, it has milk chocolate on the finish and a green apple acidity. It’s delicious, fruity and will only be around for a month.
Located in Nyamasheke, Killimbia Rwanda, the Kilimibi Washing Station was one of two washing stations to be granted approval to produce natural and honey processed coffee in Rwanda. This coffee is one of the first naturally processed coffees to be exported from Rwanda due to strict regulations by the National Agricultural Export Board. Dried on traditional African raised beds, cherry is turned every hour during the day, and meticulously hand sorted, removing any visually under ripe cherry, coffee is then coated to further separate any low-density cherry. The drying beds stretch across a large open plain where air flow and sunlight have maximum exposure to the coffee as it dries.
